Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Identification of physical, psychiatric, spiritual, social and economic problems in the patient and his family who need palliative care in the palliative care process, the care process, the application of effective coping methods with the bereavement, physiotherapy planning and evidence-based practices in palliative care, clinical decision making, palliative care in our country and to discuss issues such as the situation in the world.
Course Content: Basic concepts and principles of palliative care, palliative care in Turkey and in the world, physiotherapy in palliative care and the role of the physiotherapist, symptom management in palliative care, methods of coping with the bereavement, palliative care in adult and pediatric patients.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Understands the basic concepts and principles of palliative care and the importance of teamwork.
2) His knowledge and skills increase on the threshold of evidence-based practices in symptom evaluation and treatment in palliative care.
3) Comparing and interpreting palliative care practices in our country and in the world.
