Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To provide physiotherapists with information about addiction types and smoking addiction, methods of quitting smoking, and to gain the ability to communicate with the addicted individual, evaluate, plan and implement exercise and sports programs.
Course Content: Types of addiction and cigarette addiction, communication with addicted individuals, methods of quitting smoking; supportive, pharmacological approaches, exercise and sports, prevention and cessation of smoking initiation in children and youth.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Gains knowledge about addiction types and cigarette addiction.
2) He/She has the ability to communicate with addicted individuals and evaluate the individual.
3) Has knowledge about approaches to quit smoking.
4) Plans and implements exercise and sports programs for smoking cessation.
