Course Objectives: | 1- To understand the place of media in society and its effects on society, 2- Analyzing the basic concepts and problems in mass communication theory, 3- Describing the epistemological, ontological and axiological movements of societies by looking at the media. 4- Determining the strategies about media impact and management and reviewing the practical effects. |
Course Content: | Students who learn the basic concepts related to the media, its place in the media in society, the media provide acquainted with basic issues such as the impact on society, the future of the media in Turkey and to inform about the impact of the world, the mass media to provide attributes and historical development of the the light of social developments, the media's effects on society ( to exemplify the role of politics, democracy, women, children, etc.) and its place in society, to enable them to understand the order of the media with main topics such as the development of the media in globalization, media literacy. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Determine the relation of mass media with social structure. 2) Interpret the relationship between media and culture in the context of globalization. 3) Relates the public effects of media. 4) Analyze the effects of media on mass processes. 5) Criticizes how the media affects modern politics and democracy in the information society. |
