Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In the Introduction to Law course, it is aimed to introduce the general theory of law and to teach the legal language as an academic content. To provide an overview of basic legal concepts, principles, legal systems, methods of application and interpretation of law. As a basic point of view, the general theory of law deals with the concepts valid in all areas of law. In this context, basic concepts and institutions of law (property, debt and contract concepts, sovereign justice, etc.), meaning of law, legal system, functions of law - layers of law, sources of law and enactment, written law rules, function of law in society, rule of law The comparison with the customs, customs and moral rules are analyzed.
Course Content: The basic concepts of law, concept of law and principles of law, general principles of law, concepts of justice and equality, sources of law, emergence of law, functioning of law, regulatory character, legitimacy.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Has a basic knowledge of the basic principles of law.
2) Evaluates the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of law with a critical approach.
3) Understands the principles of social, professional and scientific ethical behavior.
4) Knows the most up-to-date scientific sources, judicial jurisprudence and other scientific sources in the field of law, thinks and applies both local and global.
5) Has the competence to observe social, scientific and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting and announcing data on legal, social and political developments.
