Course Objectives: | Introduction to Law course contains the introduction of the general theory of law and teaching the language of law. The course aims to provide a general perspective on basic legal concepts, principles, legal systems, methods of law application and interpretation. As a basic point of view, the general theory of law is the subject of concepts that are valid in all areas of law. In this context, the basic concepts and institutions of law (property, debt and contract concepts, sovereignty etc.), the meaning of the law, the legal system, the functions of the law - the layers of law, the sources of law and legalization, the rules of written law, the function of law in society, the comparison of the rules of law and traditions will be analyzed. |
Course Content: | The basic features of the characterization of the legal rules, the rational basis of the causal link of the societies and individuals to follow these rules. Following subjects will be explained through the course time: the legal logic in the order of the legal order and systematics of the legal rules, the sections of law and the formal sources of the Turkish domestic legal system in the form of constitutions, laws and regulations. As it’s known, the rules in every legal order is the implementation of the rule at a higher level. The hierarchical structure of the Legislative, Judicial and Execution powers in the constitutional bases and the application areas with their own specific methods will be discussed. |

1) Has a basic knowledge of the basic principles of law. 2) Evaluates the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of law with a critical approach. 3) Understands the principles of social, professional and scientific ethical behavior. 4) Knows the most up-to-date scientific sources, judicial jurisprudence and other scientific sources in the field of law, thinks and applies both local and global. 5) Has the competence to observe social, scientific and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting and announcing data on legal, social and political developments. |
