Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Demonstrate the ability to use illustration software features and tools to create drawing and design projects; Create examples to prepare and plan creative project processes; Understand the creative advantage of scanning hard copies or images before creative use of digital tools; Apply design principles using geometric, organic and typographic design elements. Draw and discuss concepts/design goals based on the media world or the self-expression world; Research and discuss relative creative or design outcomes.
Course Content: Introduction to digital painting using computer tools. This course includes the study of illustration as a visual interpretation of words, concepts, and ideas. Learns basic software skills while improving drawing skills in digital environment. Additionally, strategies for conveying content through pictorial expression were also examined. No computer experience required, but highly recommended. Software used: Adobe Illustrator CC.
