Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is for students to create an original portfolio design that includes their own design work. Throughout the semester, the use of the Adobe Indesign program will be taught from a beginner level and students will be able to create their portfolios on this platform. It is aimed to provide both theoretical and practical courses so that they can include the digital / printed content they have created in other courses in their portfolios.
Course Content: This course; What is personal presentation? Personal presentation techniques. Monogram and business card design. Preparing a resume and letter of intent, Job interview techniques. Body language. Objects for promotion. Participation in competitions and exhibitions. Ways of personal presentation on social media., Portfolio. Portfolio types. Digital portfolio. Digital portfolio environments. Digital portfolio software., Preparing presentations with software such as Microsoft Powerpoint, Keynote, Adobe Acrobat., Digital portfolio design processes. Selection of digital portfolio environment., Selection of work for presentation., Formats and technical specifications of works., Creation of digital portfolio flow chart. Grouping of works to be presented., Digital portfolio interface design., Typography in digital portfolio., Use of color and image elements in digital portfolio., Examination of digital portfolio sites / media., Use of sound elements in digital portfolio. Multimedia features in the digital portfolio. Jury evaluation where the works done during the term are presented; includes the following topics.

4) Theoretical knowledge on effective communication and presentation strategies. -
5) Preparation of résumé, artist statement, and cover letter. -
6) Planning portfolio structure and starting content selection. -
7) Editing selected projects and creating narrative flow. -
8) Applying visual hierarchy, typography, and grid systems. -
9) Layout design and analysis of digital vs. printed portfolios. -
10) Presentation techniques, body language, and tone of voice practices. -
11) Presentation of draft portfolios and critical feedback. -
12) Personal branding, digital identity, and creating an online portfolio. -
13) Final adjustments to portfolios and presentations. -
14) Final presentations and individual evaluation sessions. -
