Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of media and political communication in social sciences, as well as to improve the students’ necessary skills required for their academic studies.
Course Content: The course will be covered by following topics: introduction to political communication, political communication theories, media, and political communication relations, political campaigns.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Define main theories and current research in the field of political communication
2) Identify and explain key concepts in political communication
3) Recognize and describe the role of political communication as it is practiced by the mass media, political candidates, political actors, and the electorate.
4) To practice and think about political campaigns
5) Underestand the role and impact of communication in public opinion process, elections and political campaigns
