Course Objectives: | 1.To introduce the factors of design and visual communication in transferring the graphic design to the application areas, 2.To give basic information and make applications in this field. 3. To prepare a press release for the product and service to be promoted. 4. To have application studies to comprehend the layout and basic design principles. |
Course Content: | Theoretical and practical training on advertising graphics is carried out within the scope of the course. Advertising logic, creative idea development, language and strategy in advertising, types of advertising campaigns, sample advertisement reviews and advertising graphic project development through desktop publishing software constitute the content of the course. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Preparing a promotional strategy for the advertisement of a product or organization. 2) Writing title, text and slogan in accordance with the strategy, creating an image element. 3) Designing advertisements using title, text, slogan and image elements. 4) To be able to benefit from layout principles in Graphic Design and Applications. |

2) | Importance of Direct Mail as an advertising medium. Detailed research about the organization or product to be designed for the press release, determination of the promotion strategy. | |
3) | Comprehending the functions of the elements that make up the press advertisements, the types of title, text, image element (photograph, illustration, cartoon) and slogan and the issues to be considered in determining them. | |
4) | Writing titles, texts and slogans, creating visual elements in accordance with the strategy of the magazine or newspaper advertisements to be prepared. | |
5) | Evaluating the prepared title, text, slogan and image elements in group work | |
6) | Visual expression and layout in graphic design. Layout types. | |

8) | Features that should be in a successful layout. Do not analyze on original samples. | |
9) | Making press flyer drafts using the prepared title, text, slogan and image elements. | |
10) | Evaluation and conclusion on at least 2 press releases to be prepared. | |
