Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To teach the basic concepts of art and art history, to teach the works of art, the social structure of the periods in which the works were made, the characteristics of the works and the art history terminology, starting from the Prehistoric periods in the historical process.
Course Content: This course creates an understanding of the development of art history by examining various formal and conceptual strategies in art and culture from Prehistoric times to 18th century Neoclassicism. In addition to theoretical texts, important artists, various movements and visuals that influenced the development of art will be analyzed.
