Course Objectives: | video/ architecture is a course designed to teach critical thinking of the filmic medium and its relationship with the profession of architecture, architects and the arch itectural culture. this course aims to introduce the students to motion picture history and culture, and establish basic critical writing skills for visual media. |
Course Content: | over the course of 14 weeks, students will be watching architecture- re lated movies, shown multiple examples and presentations , and will be expected to write short essays about the movies they watch during class or as part of their viewing assignments , as well as a fi nal essay about a movie from a predetermined li st , and pertaining to a particular topic in relation to the movie of their choice. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To evaluate the discipline of cinema as a critical thinking in relation to architecture. 2) Recognizing the history and culture of cinema and gaining basic critical writing skills for visual media 3) To be able to analyze cinematographic space 4) To produce spatial analyzes through the concepts in the intersection of cinema and architectural cultures |
