Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The main aim of the course is to give students basic information and application examples about the physical principles, physiological effects, application methods, indications and contra-indications, dangers of heat and light hydrotherapy modalities.
Course Content: Review of surface temperature modalities and hydrotherapy methods used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation and sample applications

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Heat, Light, Hydrotherapy course, the student is expected to have gained theoretical and practical skills in the selection of the appropriate treatment modality, application principles and application in clinical conditions.
2) Explains and selects the effects of superficial temperature modalities on inflammation and pain.
3) Defines the physical and physiological effects of surface temperature modalities and solves problems.
4) Explains the physical and physiological effects of infrared, laser, UVL, heliotherapy and cold application, determines and applies indications and contraindications.
5) Defines the usage purposes of hydrotherapy, its physiological effects and explains the related basic concepts.
6) Explains the physiological effects, application methods and usage areas of water applications with mechanical stimulation, fluidotherapy, moist heat applications
7) Explains the physiological effects, application methods and usage areas of spa treatment, pool treatment and in-water exercises.
8) Explains and applies the purposes and application methods of tests used in hydrotherapy.
