Course Objectives: | Learning about the types of addiction, the mechanisms of addiction process and how addiction changes functions of the brain. |
Course Content: | Limbic system, Motivation, Reward systems of the brain, Reward pathways, Mechanism of addiction, chemical changes in the brain in addiction types |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) I. To be able to discuss the relationship between the mechanism of reward systems, motivation and addiction. 2) To be able to compare the differences in the addicted and normal brain 3) Understanding how different types of addiction can have different effects 4) Students know what addiction is. 5) Students learn the factors affecting substance addiction. 6) Students know the types of addictions. |
