Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to help students make sexually responsible and healthy decisions for themselves and their environment by providing students with up-to-date information on human sexuality.
Course Content: This course covers the anatomy and physiology of sexuality, sexual arousal and response, gender roles, attraction, love, close relationships, sexual communication, sexual orientation, pregnancy, birth control, prenatal development, lifelong sexual behavior, sexual dysfunctions and sexual treatments. It covers main topics related to human sexuality such as sexually transmitted diseases, atypical patterns in sexual behavior, sexual violence and commercial sexuality.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) 1. Explain why sexual education is needed.
2) 2. Will be able to compare female and male reproductive anatomy.
3) 3. Will be able to discuss the relationship between hormones and sexual desire.
4) 4. Will be able to define what is sexual orientation.
5) 5. list different sexual problems that can be seen in men and women.
6) 6. Will be able to define sexual diversity and paraphilias.
7) 7. Will be able to compare the methods used in sexuality research with each other.
