Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims at analysis and close reading of ancient philosophy texts from primary sources.
Course Content: A close reading of the texts of the philosophers of the period, especially Heraclitus, Plato and Aristotle, in which they discussed certain philosophical problems.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) In addition to the subjects of natural philosophy discussed in the philosophy of ancient times, they will have knowledge about ethics, ideal society and state.
2) Understands and interprets how ancient philosophy influenced medieval and modern philosophy.
3) Relates the shift of focus from natural philosophy to social issues in the discussions of antiquity with historical developments.

2) Acquires analytical and critical thinking skills.
3) Obtains comprehensive knowledge about fundamental disciplines such as ontology, epistemology, ethics.
4) Acquires theoretical knowledge in the field of logic and gains the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
5) Develops skills in close reading, logical analysis, and interpretation of philosophical texts, as well as reasoning abilities.
