Course Objectives: | This course aims at analysis and close reading of ancient philosophy texts from primary sources. |
Course Content: | A close reading of the texts of the philosophers of the period, especially Heraclitus, Plato and Aristotle, in which they discussed certain philosophical problems. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) In addition to the subjects of natural philosophy discussed in the philosophy of ancient times, they will have knowledge about ethics, ideal society and state. 2) Understands and interprets how ancient philosophy influenced medieval and modern philosophy. 3) Relates the shift of focus from natural philosophy to social issues in the discussions of antiquity with historical developments. |
