Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The clinical application of the theoretical knowledge about periodontal examination, diagnosis and treatment planning and also the successful use of periodontal hand tools on the patient within the correct ergonomic rules.
Course Content: Periodontal examination and diagnosis methods, oral hygiene practices and patient education, initial periodontal treatment practices

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Performs clinical and radiographic periodontal examination, discriminates and diagnoses periodontal health and disease.
2) Able to perform initial and non-surgical periodontal treatment of patients who require periodontal treatment to a certain extent, and refers patients who require advanced treatment to a periodontologist.
3) Evaluates the oral hygiene level of the patient and also educates and motivates on this subject.
