Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:	The course aims to teach the non-surgical and surgical treatment methods of periodontal diseases, supportive periodontal treatment, and the use of chemotherapeutic agents and lasers.
Course Content:	Phase I periodontal treatment, the use of antibiotics in periodontal treatment, gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, periodontal flap, bone defects and their treatment, furcation involvement and its treatment, regenerative periodontal treatment, plastic periodontal surgery

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Has sufficient knowledge to perform initial (non-surgical) periodontal treatment.
2) Has enough knowledge to inform and guide the patient about advanced periodontal treatment methods such as resective, regenerative, and plastic periodontal surgery.
3) Knows the drugs that can be used in the treatment of periodontal diseases and their use and can prescribe them to the patient.
4) Knows enough to perform supportive periodontal therapy
