Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Prevention of accidents, elimination of life-threatening situations in case of an incident, accident or injury, ensuring the continuity of vital functions, taking measures to prevent worsening of the condition of the patient/injured, and gaining knowledge and skills on basic first aid principles and practices that facilitate recovery.
Course Content: The first aid course includes basic knowledge and practices regarding the life-saving and disability-preventing first aid attempts at the scene until the emergency care service arrives for the injured individuals in the event of an incident or accident.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Express the importance of first aid for public health and safety.
2) Explains the rules (laws, regulations) and principles regarding the country's disaster and emergency plans.
3) Explains the principles of first aid.
4) In case of any incident, accident or injury, it applies the necessary first aid at the scene to save the life of the individual and the society and to prevent injuries.
5) Explains the initiatives to prevent accidents in children.
