Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to equip students with the basic grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills necessary to use Italian in simple, everyday situations. By the end of the course, students will be able to introduce themselves, ask and answer basic questions, and understand and use common expressions to carry out basic communicative tasks. |
Course Content: | Course Content: Alphabet and Pronunciation Italian letters and sounds Basic pronunciation rules Greetings and Introductions Introducing yourself and others Basic greetings and farewells Personal Information Talking about age, nationality, profession, and place of residence Asking and answering simple personal questions Daily Life and Routines Talking about daily habits and routines Telling the time, days, months, and dates Numbers and Time Numbers from 0 to 100 Asking and telling the time Family and Friends Talking about family members Describing relationships Food and Drinks Shopping for groceries Ordering from a menu Directions and Places in Town Asking for and giving simple directions Places in the city (e.g., café, museum, bank) Verb Conjugation and Basic Grammar Key verbs such as essere, avere, fare, andare Present tense conjugation Definite and indefinite articles Adjectives, pronouns, basic prepositions Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing Activities Short dialogues from real-life situations Writing simple emails or postcards Speaking practice with visual support |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Introduce themselves and others using basic personal information (e.g., name, age, nationality, profession). 2) Understand and use common everyday expressions related to greetings, shopping, and ordering food and drinks. 3) Ask and answer simple questions in familiar contexts such as family, routines, and locations. 4) Use basic grammar structures (e.g., present tense of regular and common irregular verbs, articles, and prepositions) to form simple sentences. |
