Course Objectives: | The aim of the course is to examine the concepts, methods and tools of sustainable development of the built environment and close environment relations for the establishment, planning and design processes of settlement areas, starting from the prehistoric period and mainly focusing on the post-industrial revolution of the 19th century. |
Course Content: | To convey a holistic perspective to the environmental, social and economic context through the dynamics of urban development and sustainable architecture, planning and design relations within the framework of human-nature interaction, cultural characteristics and technological development. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To discuss the concepts of sustainable development and sustainable architecture 2) To make a holistic analysis of the sustainable architecture, planning and design relations of the built environment in order to ensure the quality of life 3) Raising awareness on the use of innovative sustainable technologies in smart cities in the context of the relationship between city and technology 4) To analyze the relationships between renewable energy technologies and spatial setup 5) To discuss basic analysis on the formation of public space within the framework of the concept of publicity 6) Raising awareness on the importance of creating an inventory of the built environment in planning and design processes 7) To make basic spatial analysis of historical urban environment as well as urban development zones |
