Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills about the conditions that affect women's health. It is aimed to gain the necessary theoretical knowledge in the course environment, to examine the current situation in the determined subjects in line with the literature and to evaluate the practices in our country.
Course Content: Nursing approaches in risky labor and postpartum period, newborn evaluation and emergency care, family planning methods and counseling, genital infections and nursing approaches, reproductive cycle anomalies, pelvic structure disorders, nursing approaches in gynecological cancers include the menopause period and violence against women.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to discuss risky situations and evidence-based nursing practices in the birth and postpartum period.
2) To be able to explain nursing practices in newborn evaluation and emergency care
3) To be able to explain the abnormal conditions in the reproductive cycle and the causes of sexually transmitted diseases, to discuss nursing approaches
4) To be able to discuss nursing approaches related to family planning methods and counseling in line with current knowledge
5) To be able to explain the current methods used in the diagnosis and evaluation of women's health in line with the literature.
6) To be able to explain the nursing practices in the approach to infertile couples in line with the literature
7) To be able to explain the current data on gynecological cancers and discuss the practices in nursing care.
