Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to give comprehensive theoretical information about the roles and responsibilities of the midwife in gynecological cancers, to identify physical and psychosocial health problems specific to gynecological cancer patients, to solve the problems identified in the light of new developments and to develop a health care plan.
Course Content: Risk, prevention and screening strategies in gynecological cancers, prevention and screening strategies, Current diagnosis and treatment approaches in gynecological oncology factor patients, evidence sciences and nursing care, Gynecological oncology and quality of life, Clinical features and screening strategies in gynecological cancer patients, Treatment methods in gynecological oncology factors Psychosocial care needs of gynecological oncology patients and their families, Palliative care in gynecological cancers, Complementary and alternative therapies in gynecological oncology, Vulva-vaginal cancer and nursing, Cervical cancer and nursing, Uterine cancer and Tuba-ovarian cancer nursing, Pregnancy and cancers, Chemotherapy and radiotherapy Care strategies for symptom management and symptom classification.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Defines the roles and responsibilities of the midwife in gynecological cancer.
2) Determines the needs of patients with gynecological cancer and plans midwifery care based on evidence, evaluates care outcomes.
3) Follows innovations in symptom management in gynecological cancers
4) Defines the midwifery practices related to diagnosis, treatment, care, end-of-life care stages of gynecological cancer patients and their families.
5) Knows preventive practices against gynecological cancers and raises awareness of the society
