Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to provide students with knowledge and decision-making skills about the assistive technology needs of individuals with disabilities.
Course Content: This course teaches the student the basic concepts of assistive technology, enabling the student to learn ways to improve functional and cognitive skills of individuals with disabilities by supporting them with rehabilitation engineering at home, community, school or workplace.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Decides the appropriate assistive technology in line with the needs of the people with disabilities.
2) Gains the ability to identify basic concepts in assistive technology.
3) Explains robot-assisted rehabilitation systems.
4) Determines the World Health Organization- International Classification of Function (WHO-ICF) in assistive technology concept.
