Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to explore the latest trends and successful applications in technology, the relationships between different technologies and how they affect each other, how new technologies trigger digital transformation and how they affect business and daily life. Students will learn how to effectively and efficiently evaluate trends and emerging technologies in business and management and will help their organizations identify, select and apply these new technologies in their business processes and operations. This course provides students with effective methods for assessing new aspects in technology and their importance and applicability for business environments, as well as new challenges and problems they have developed. They will learn about emerging technologies and what problems they are addressing, and in particular the latest trends and practices.
Course Content: Within the scope of the course, successful application areas and case studies will be introduced, as well as new technologies that affect the world, daily life and business processes; The impact of such technologies on different industries will be highlighted. The aim is for the student to understand how these new technologies can be integrated into business processes and the organization by using the right methods, and thus to differentiate and gain competitive advantage. The status of new technologies and how they should be evaluated and positioned in business models or plans, and methodologies for implementing new technologies will be presented.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Examine and evaluate emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, mobile communications, big data, analytics, digital marketing, robotics, wearables, cloud computing, augmented reality and virtual reality.
2) Understanding the impact of new technologies on business processes and work environment.
3) To combine the most important general trends in digital technologies and the economic and social impacts of these trends.
4) Identify critical factors that influence the successful adoption of new technologies.
5) Recognize the key features, business benefits, risks and cost aspects of new technologies.
6) Identify technology trends that currently affect or are likely to affect the selection of new technologies in the coming period.
7) Explain how value can be created through the application of customer-specific technology trends and examine the steps to be taken to bring these technologies to the wider population.
8) Evaluate the function of technology trends in the overall business strategy and examine how these trends should be evaluated in each department.
9) Helping to integrate the tools in the use of new technologies with the competencies of the organizations and outlining the strategies for creating the customer experience.
