Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To give a new perspective in the field of art history. The subjects to be processed are supported with visual examples and examined on-site if necessary.
Course Content: The concepts of art and artist, the social, political and cultural changes of art from prehistoric times to the present and the stylistic features of the periods are explained.

3) Byzantine Art (mosaic, icon, hand writing pictures-architecture)
4) 14.-16. YY. Pre-early-high Renaissance in Europe.
5) 16.-17. YY. High Renaissance, Manierist and Baroque Period in Europe
6) 19.-20. YY. Neoclassicism, Romanticism and Realism movements in Europe.
7) Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Abstract Art, Futurism, Pop Art, Op Art.
8) Anatolian Principalities Period
9) Anatolian Seljuk Art
10) Early Ottoman architecture
11) Classical Ottoman Architecture - Mimar Sinan
12) Chronological architecture until the beginning of 20th century
