Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Establishing a health and safety culture, adopting the concept of occupational health and safety in this framework, learning the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers in this area, learning the sources of danger in the working environment and making risk assessment, learning the basic principles of work accidents and occupational diseases, learning the basic first aid principles.
Course Content: Health and Safety Culture, Basic Consepts of Occupational Health and Safety, Rights and Liabilities, Source of Danger in Workplaces, Risk Assesment, Occupational Accident and Occupational Diseas, Principle of Basic First Aid

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the basic concepts of Occupational Health and Safety,
2) Knows the legislation on Occupational Health and Safety,
3) Understands the relevant rights and responsibilities in terms of employees and employers,
4) Make a risk assessment by noticing the sources of danger in various working environments,
5) Understands the causes of work accident and occupational disease, can prevent accidents with a preventive approach,
6) Basic first aid awareness increases.

2) Combining the basic principles of science with technology, he/she has the ability to apply effectively in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation.
3) Has knowledge about treatment methods for muscle and skeletal systems.

5) Be able to follow the innovations, changes and developments in science and technology and analyze them with an integrated approach.
6) He/she has the knowledge of the techniques and methods necessary to apply physical therapy, and the knowledge of ethical principles and rules.
7) Follows the knowledge in the field by using a foreign language at least at the A2 General Level of the European Language Portfolio.
8) He/she uses information and communication technologies together with computer software at the minimum level of European Computer Use License required by his/her field.

10) It contributes to projects and activities for the social environment in which it lives, with a sense of social responsibility. He/she sets an example for the society with her/his appearance, manners, attitudes and behaviors.

12) He/she has the experience of working with other fields that may be related to her/his field.
13) Has sufficient awareness of occupational health and safety issues.
14) In case of encountering an unforeseen situation in matters related to her/his field, he/she takes responsibility and develops solutions.
