Course Objectives: | The purpose of this course is to teach students the definition and importance of diction, breathing exercises, voice control techniques, pronunciation of letters, common pronunciation errors, diction rules, and effective speaking methods. |
Course Content: | **PROGRAM NAME:** Effective Speaking and Diction Training **CONTENT AND OUTCOMES OF DICTION TRAINING** - Diction training teaches how to develop breathing, voice speed, and rhythm. - Provides guidance on how to adjust your voice for different audience sizes and venues. - Helps you understand how the vocal mechanism works, which is fundamental to diction training, and aids in discovering your natural voice. - Introduces practical tips and exercises to improve voice and diction, and to enable smooth transitions between sounds during speech. - Teaches you how to convey the impact of your voice consistently throughout your speech. - Enables more effective speech by incorporating nuances of tone, emphasis, and pauses. - Through diction training, participants will learn the subtleties of using language accurately, beautifully, and effectively, becoming individuals who can use Turkish with care, view speech as an art, examine correct and incorrect language use, understand the importance of eloquent speech, and “know not only what to say, but also how to say it.” - Provides knowledge related to the recruitment process. This course covers topics including diction, breathing techniques, voice modulation, Turkish grammar rules, intonation, emphasis, articulation exercises, overcoming speech defects, body language, stress management, improvisation exercises, poetry reading, emotional expression, story narration, news script analysis, and presentation skills. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Defines the communication process necessary for effective communication and identifies factors that hinder it. 2) Uses speech organs and the respiratory mechanism correctly. 3) Practices exercises necessary for clear and well-paced reading speed. 4) Speaks Turkish in accordance with grammar rules. 5) Pronounces Turkish vowels and consonants accurately. 6) Delivers effective and accurate speeches in front of an audience. |
