Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, the emergence of cognitive psychology and its importance in practice will be discussed. Cognitive processes such as cognition, perception, attention and memory, conceptual structure of these processes, related models and neuroscientific explanations will be emphasized.
Course Content: This course includes concepts, approaches and methods related to cognitive processes such as cognition, sensation-perception, attention and memory. It deals with the experiments and neuroscience research in the investigation of cognitive processes.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Learns in detail the common and accepted theories about the study areas of cognitive psychology such as cognition, perception, attention, information processing processes and memory types.
2) Thanks to the findings obtained in the study areas of Cognitive Psychology, comprehend the relationship between brain structure and function
3) Have knowledge about current research topics and methods in cognitive psychology
4) Produces analytical and original ideas in the light of scientific data on topics of interest in cognitive psychology
5) Gains the ability to express his/her learning outcome in written and orally
