Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Reinforcing the theoretical knowledge learned in Medical Imaging courses with the application. It is aimed to be able to master and apply all imaging methods and shots.
Course Content: It covers hospital applications of what is learned in Medical Imaging Techniques courses. Examination techniques are described and practiced in all imaging modalities, including direct radiographs, contrast-enhanced examinations, new imaging methods (X-Ray, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, CT and MRI), and digital subtraction angiography.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) She/He has knowledge about radiation protection.
2) By using the x-ray device effectively, she/he performs anatomical region shots.
3) By effectively using the DEXA device, it effectively measures bone mineral density.
4) It effectively measures breast tissue density by using the mammography device effectively.
5) Performs anatomical region imaging by using the CT device effectively.
6) Performs anatomical region imaging by using the MRI device effectively.

2) Apply radiation safety and radiation protection rules. It takes necessary measures to protect itself and the patient from the harmful effects of radiation.
3) Knows the infrastructure of medical imaging devices, daily maintenance and controls of the devices.
4) Has knowledge about occupational health and safety.
5) In order to solve unforeseen complex problems encountered in the applications related to the field, it takes part in the team and acts in accordance with the quality management and processes and takes individual responsibility when necessary.
6) Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, physicians and other health professionals.
7) Knows radiological anatomy at basic level. Recognize the anatomical structures displayed.
8) Know medical and radiological terms, uses effectively.
9) Has the ability to communicate and work effectively with different medical sciences.
