Course Objectives: | To provide critical exploration of published translations, To cultivate an awareness based on theoretical readings including error identification and prescriptivism. |
Course Content: | Critical evaluations of translation texts, requirements to achieve appropriate standards in translation competence, language, the examination of style and the context of the source text. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to predict different possibilities in-text translations 2) To be able to test and use appropriate solutions while criticizing translation texts, 3) To be able to evaluate translation texts critically and develop a perspective for this 4) To be able to evaluate the translation outcome in terms of its strengths and weaknesses, 5) To be able to approach to different text types critically. |
