Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:	This course mainly aims to provide translational skills in the texts of political science and international law. The terminology of the field is introduced to the students. Various practice reinforce the understanding of the field through translation exercises.
Course Content:	Introducing translational terminology that is specific to the political and legal system source or target language. Translating written legal and political texts, giving information about the problems that may be faced in the translation of legal and political texts.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To know the general features of the language of law and politics and recognize the difficulties in translation,
2) To compare the structure and basic principles of texts in different legal systems,
3) To be able to produce solutions to the difficulties encountered in the translation of legal texts
4) To translate different types of law and politics texts
5) To know and use the terminology and style of law and politics.

3) He / She takes ethical and practical training from beginning to advanced levels to develop consecutive and simultaneous interpreting skills in various fields such as health, media and law etc. Thanks to this training, he / she practices his/her profession in accordance with the standards of conference interpreting in various legal, health and media-communication fields nationally and internationally.
3) He / She acquires the ability to understand multicultural approaches in the field of translation and interpretation and reflects the efficient bilingual and bi-cultural practices on his/her works.
4) He / She knows and applies professional ethics, professional standards and practices in the field of translation and interpretation.
5) He / She applies basic research methods and theories in social sciences.
