Course Objectives: | This course aims to teach written and oral translation from English into Turkish and Turkish into English of scientific and technical material drawn from a variety of sources, including medical and pharmaceutical. The course includes documentary and terminological research and emphasizes style and language registers. |
Course Content: | Introduce strategies for translating scientific and technical texts in Turkish and English, the examination of the usage of these strategies. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To develop basic competence in the translation of various scientific texts 2) To acquire knowledge and skills required for technical translation, 3) To develop an attitude about how to use the resources to be used in translation processes, 4) To be able to do translation research and use scientific terminology effectively and efficiently. 5) To evaluate a text according to the needs of the target group and make a decision and apply the most appropriate translation strategy |
