Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:	To examine and discuss phonological and syntactic features of Turkish and English languages from the point of view of a translator.
Course Content:	Comparative analysis of Turkish and English syntactically and structurally. Examining languages in terms of methodological and field researches with examples from both languages.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To develop grammar knowledge in both languages comparatively,
2) To develop the ability to understand and compare the language system of both languages,
3) To be able to compare different data of two or more languages systematically
4) To be able to see the different data of two or more languages, evaluate them critically and use the theories that reveal the existing similarities or differences,
5) To be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge on a subject in a different language field.

3) He / She takes ethical and practical training from beginning to advanced levels to develop consecutive and simultaneous interpreting skills in various fields such as health, media and law etc. Thanks to this training, he / she practices his/her profession in accordance with the standards of conference interpreting in various legal, health and media-communication fields nationally and internationally.
3) He / She acquires the ability to understand multicultural approaches in the field of translation and interpretation and reflects the efficient bilingual and bi-cultural practices on his/her works.
4) He / She knows and applies professional ethics, professional standards and practices in the field of translation and interpretation.
5) He / She applies basic research methods and theories in social sciences.
