Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Dersin amacı öğrencilerin infertilite ve yardımcı üreme tekniklerine ve infertil çiftlerde tanı, değerlendirme ve tedavi yöntemlerine ilişkin kapsamlı teorik bilgi edinmesi, bu kapsamda bakım becerisi kazanması, infertil çiftlere özgü fiziksel, psiko-sosyal sağlık sorunlarını belirleyebilme ve sorunlarını çözümlemede sağlık bakım planı geliştirebilme becerisi ile infertilite ve yardımcı üreme tekniklerine ilişkin bilgi ve becerisini yeni gelişmelerin ışığı altında uygulama becerisi kazandırmaktır.
Course Content: This course covers the definition of infertility, its types, causes, the prevalence of infertility in the world and in Turkey, factors affecting fertility and awareness of fertility, evaluation of fertility, recent developments, assisted reproductive techniques and nursing practices.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to define the roles and responsibilities of the infertility nurse
2) To be able to explain the procedures performed for the evaluation of the infertile couple.
3) To be able to comprehend the effects of diagnosis and treatment process of infertile couples on their economic, cultural, psychosocial, sexual life and quality of life.
4) To be able to determine the education and counseling needs of the patient in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility.
