Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Following the learning of the basic concepts of urogynecological diseases and treatment methods, to provide the necessary information for the care of the patient and his family with urogynecological symptoms and to provide counseling
Course Content: The aim of this course is to evaluate the patients and their families with urogynecologic problems seen in women, to take necessary precautions to prevent their problems, to obtain the knowledge and skills about treatment methods and nursing approach.

Course Flow Plan

1) The frequency and risk factors of lower urinary tract complaints in women in our country and in the world, their effects on quality of life,
2) The structure and functioning of the lower urinary system,
3) Symptoms and classifications of the lower urinary tract,
4) Basic diagnostic tests in urogynecology, advanced diagnostic tests in urogynecology,
5) Conservative Treatment Methods (Simple clinical interventions, Lifestyle changes, Behavior therapy/planned voiding and evidence)
6) Definition, epidemiology, current diagnosis and treatment methods of fecal incontinence,
7) Conservative Treatment Methods (Pelvic Floor Muscle Training (PFMT), vaginal cone, Biofeedback, Electrical stimulation, Magnetic stimulation and evidence)
8) Midterm Exam
9) Current approaches in the surgical treatment of lower urinary tract problems in women I
10) Current approaches in the surgical treatment of lower urinary tract problems in women II
11) Preventing lower urinary system problems, healthy lifestyle behaviors
12) Complementary and alternative medicine applications used in urogynecology
13) Sexual health in individuals with incontinence
