Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course for each student;
Recognition of this problem in patients with respiratory and cardiovascular problems, evaluation of patients with appropriate evaluation methods, respiratory physiotherapy approaches, application of pulmonary rehabilitation, selection of cardiac rehabilitation approaches and planning of appropriate treatment program for the patient.
Course Content: Mobilizaton and exercise, positioning, physiological basis and clinical applications of airway cleaning techniques, coughing techniques, respiratory facilitation strategies, exercise testing and training in diseases, muscle training, patient training.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explain the basic concepts of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
2) Defines the clinical features of cardiopulmonary diseases
3) Evaluates the patients with cardiopulmonary problems from physical, physiological and functional aspects.
4) Plans and applies physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches in patients with cardiopulmonary problems.
5) It evaluates the quality of life and psychosocial status in patients with cardiopulmonary problems and gives a home program.
6) Analyze risk factors in people with cardiopulmonary risk
7) It makes patient education and behavior modification in people with cardiopulmonary risk

2) Evaluation methods used in pulmonary rehabilitation
3) Exercise training in physical rehabilitation, physical activity

6) Physiotherapy and rehabilitation in intensive care, daily life activities and energy consumption in thoracic surgery
7) History, definition and components of cardiac rehabilitation, definition and general characteristics of major heart diseases

9) Cardiovascular evaluation and electrocardiography
10) Early cardiac rehabilitation program
11) Changeable risk factors and treatment
