Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is for each student;
To establish the relationship between macro and micro molecules and to explain the relationship between biochemistry and diseases; Quality control and standardization in clinical biochemistry laboratory, screening tests; have knowledge about patient head tests.
Course Content: Diseases that can be seen as a result of metabolism disorders in proteins, carbohydrates and lipids; Evaluation of enzyme activities that may be altered in various clinical conditions such as disorders of porphyrin and hemoproteins, myocardial infarction, disruption of liver function; Mechanisms of action of hormones and their linkages, Quality control and standardization in clinical biochemistry laboratory; Screening Tests; To teach the patient tests.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Describes protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
2) Counts enzymes that are important in clinical diagnosis.
3) Describes the general characteristics and mechanisms of action of hormones.
4) Describe porphyrins, nucleic acids, gene expression.
5) Establishes the connection between nutrition, metabolism and energy.
6) It implements quality control and standardization in clinical biochemistry laboratory.

1) Medical laboratory techniques apply the basic knowledge and skills on the path to diagnosis from the patient samples, which are deemed necessary by the physicians, by gaining the competence towards the general and applied sciences of basic medicine fields such as microbiology, biochemistry, hematology and immunology for human health. 3 3 3 3 3 3 3
2) It takes part in the acceptance of samples to be examined in the medical laboratory. 2 3 3
