Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:	1. Provide a comprehensive introduction to the key elements of political philosophy 2. Develop a critical stance vis-a-vis the evolution of relations among the state, the society and the individuals. 3. Comparing philosophical contributions of different eras.
Course Content:	Core debates of political philosophy will be studied based on the contributions of the main philosophers from Ancient Greece to the Modern Era.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students will classify theories on the main topics of political science such as justice, society and state.
2) Students shall be able to assess theories of state formation.
3) Students will be able to analyze different discussions of state-society relationship.
4) Students will be able to compare visions of different eras such as the Antiquity and the Enlightenment.
5) Students shall be able to evaluate the evolution of political thought on human nature.
6) Students will practice respect for academic research ethics in the presentations and research papers that they will produce.
