Course Objectives: | 1. To understand the dynamic balances, especially in the Middle East and Central Asia, on the axis of Turkish-Islamic thoughts and to examine the currents and thinkers in this context. 2. Examination of the state, society, and individual relations, examining the subject in the Caucasus, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Arab states, both during the lesson and as homework 3. To get to the origins of today's regional and related global interventions and to analyze the relevant dynamics on the path illuminated by history. 4. To reveal the cultural effects of thought, to answer the mental problems that develop within the Turkish-Islamic culture. |
Course Content: | Islamic philosophy, state and philosophy in Islam, Farabi, Ibn-i Haldun, Ibn-i Rushd, the golden age of Islam in the 8-11th century, development of the state in Turkish history, Ibn-i Sina. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Comprehends the emergence and development of Islam in general terms and the intellectual traces of the Turkish-Islamic synthesis that occurred in the process. 2) Islamic philosophers and the influence of Islamic thought on the West 3) The main thinkers who influenced Turkish-Islamic thought are introduced to the arguments put forward by these thinkers. Analyzes the origin of today's divergences. 4) Comprehends the factors affecting Turkish political thought. Define the main problems of Islamic thought. 5) Comprehends the role of the state phenomenon and the power of these ideas to affect the state structure, especially in the Middle East and Central Asian regions. 6) Current debates in the field of Turkish-Islamic history of thought may arouse academic interest in examining new views and events. 7) Comprehends the awareness of professional ethics and responsibility during the course and with the homework to be prepared. |
