Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Quantitiative methods focusing on decision making will be presented to the students. Quantitiative Decision Making Methods put forward the methodology for finding a rational solution to decision problems. These methods emphasize how the decision should be made rather than what the decision should be. Students will have a broad knowledge of different decision-making techniques in a comparative way. In particular, it will be emphasized what the decision problems that may be encountered in health management and how a structuring, modeling and analysis process should be followed in order to solve these problems.
Course Content: In this course, it is aimed to become knowledgeable about the use of numerical data, modeling, analytical thinking and programming model. This course includes the methods used to make accurate decisions about numerical data (transportation model, simplex, critical path, inventory model).

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Gains general knowledge in decision-making and managerial decision processes, modeling and visualizing decision problems
2) Defines the decision problems according to criteria, knows the probability and the use of information in decision problems. Applies the analysis techniques appropriate to the number of criteria and definition of purpose.
3) It covers decision-making and implementation processes; It conducts the process consisting of planning, programming and control stages analytically and manages time, budget and quality factors in optimal processes.
4) Learns to examine systems consisting of units with decision-making power for a specific goal and mathematical modeling of systems in which decision makers are involved in competition.
