Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to recognize the basic concepts related to the scientific research process, to comprehend the importance of science and scientific research, to recognize different analysis methods related to scientific research, to be informed about the scientific research process and to have knowledge on ethical issues. |
Course Content: | Science and research, planning in scientific research, scientific research ethics, definitions and ethical principles, scientific data collection methods and sampling, measurement tools - validity and reliability, qualitative research methods, quantitative research methods, parametric statistics, non-parametric statistics, basic rules in article writing and examples, citation and reference in scientific research. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explain the scientific research. 2) Lists scientific research methods. 3) Knows how to select and calculate samples for scientific research. 4) Will be able to design a scientific research. 5) Decides the statistical method to be made according to the type of research. 6) Can make appropriate citations and references in scientific research. 7) Knows the ethical issues to be considered in scientific research. |
