Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Systematics of radiotherapy-related devices, preparation of the patient for treatment, treatment planning, patient positioning, optimization and learning on patient.
Course Content: Systematics of radiotherapy-related devices, preparation, optimization and use on the patient to learn.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Will be able to explain the biological effects of radiation. Defines the place of radiotherapy in cancer treatment.
2) Will be able to summarize the preparation process for radiotherapy application.
3) Apply the necessary tests to plan the treatment.
4) Examples of the use and adjustment of radiotherapy devices.
5) Will be able to explain radiotherapy applications with different devices. Describes the 3D conformal radiotherapy application. Describes the intensity modulated radiotherapy application. Describes the radiotherapy application performed with VMAT technique.
6) Will be able to explain radiotherapy patient preparation and patient information phases.
