Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Physiological explanation of psychological action and behaviors. To explain the neurophysiological, neurobiological and neurochemical bases of behavior, emotions and thoughts and to reveal the linking of behavior and electrochemical processes in the brain.
Course Content: The course includes the Foundations of Behavioral Neuroscience, Structure and Functions of the Cells of the Nervous System, Structure of the Nervous system, Brain Development and Plasticity, Psychopharmacology, Vision, Audition, Chemical and Bodily Sensations, Biopsychology of Emotion and Motivation, Hypothalamus and its Functions, Learning and Memory, Sleep and Biological Rhythm, Bases of Behavioral Disorders.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Describes the biological origins of "Behavioural Neuroscience"
2) Understands the neurobiological, neurophysiological, and neurochemical bases of behaviours, emotions, and thoughts.
3) Explains the structural and functional organisation of the human nervous system
4) Establishes the linking of human behaviour and nervous system.
5) Differentiates the psychological and physiological foundations of disorders in behaviour, emotion and thought systems.
