Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To interpret attachment theory under the light of scientific researches within the scope of developmental psychology.
Course Content: Detailed examination and discussion of a range of topics related to attachment (attachment system, basic terms, attachment styles in childhood and adulthood, measurement materials, attachment-related affect regulation strategies etc.).

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Grasps basics of attachment theory.
2) Learns well-known theorists and researches in the field of attachment.
3) Distinguish the differences and the relationship between attachment and psychopathology.
4) Interprets the role of attachment in adulthood and romantic relationships.
5) Interprets the effects of secure and insecure attachment on child development.
