Course Objectives: | Aim of the course is to examine the prominent approaches to psychotherapy, scrutinizing their theroretical bacgrounds, basic concepts, therapeutical tools and materials. |
Course Content: | Overview of different psychotherapy approaches; psychodynamic therapies, cognitive behavioral therapies, humanistic therapies, family, marital and group therapies. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Evaluates psychotherapeutic approaches within the history of science of psycology. 2) Distinguishes practices of different approaches. 3) Interprets the practices of different approaches according to their own theorical backgrounds. 4) Recognizes which approach is used in specific case studies. 5) Handles a case under the scope of a specific approach and to evaluate the development of the intervention. |
