Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to provide students the basic concepts and theories of environmental psychology, the psyhological processes underlying the relations between human and the environment. |
Course Content: | The major principles of environmental psychology, the cognitive representations of space, privacy theories, personal space and territoriality, home and residential environments, place attachment and place identity, environmental design process. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Comprehends the basic concepts and theories of Environmental Psychology. 2) Understands the psychological processes underlying the relation between human and space. 3) Defines the cognitive, emotional and social dimensions of human space relations. 4) Adapts the concepts and theories of Environmental Psychology to Daily life experiences. 5) Knows the relation of Environmental Psychology with other disciplines (e.g. architecture, geography, urban planning etc.). |
