Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to teach diagnostic criteria, major etiological theories, epidemiology, comorbidity, distinctive symptoms and assessment of childhood psychopathology,
Course Content: Detailed examination and discussion of a range of topics related to childhood psychopathology (neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety etc.), risk and protectors factors for psychopathology.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Understands diagnostic schemas including the DSM and alternative models of psychopathology.
2) Lists main symptoms of some specific childhood psychopathologies, presented in DSM-5.
3) Comprehends ethology, comorbidity and development of childhood pathologies.
4) Discerns between symptoms and a disorder.
5) Evaluates risk and protective factors for specific pathologies.
