Course Objectives: | The purpose of this course is to determine the symptoms and problems by using neurophysiological evaluation methods in various diseases due to the damage of the nervous system and to gain the knowledge and skills to create and implement the necessary physiotherapy and rehabilitation program. Additionally, it is aimed to provide basic information about analysing techniques such as Bobath, Johnstone, Brunnstrom, in context of neurophysiological approach, application to indicated patient and follow-up of results. |
Course Content: | Degenerative, idiopathic, traumatic and infectious diseases of the nervous system and the theoretical and practical applications of special physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches for these diseases. Additionally, this course covers neurophysiological approaches like Bobath, Johnstone and Brunnstrom which are using in assessment and rehabilitation. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Learn the clinical features of neurological diseases. 2) Classify the diseases according to the characteristics of the central and peripheral nervous system and teaches the clinical characteristics of upper and lower motor neuron influences. 3) Define the effects of neurological disease on body functions, activity and participation and plans treatment program in clinical decision making process. 4) Use Bobath Approach in rehabilitation 5) Use Johnstone Approach in rehabilitation 6) Determine diagnostic and treatment methods according to Brunnstrom Approach |
