Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course for each student;
The aim of this course is to provide the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the care needs of the healthy / sick child and his / her family with a professional holistic approach at every stage of health care, which can examine the basic concepts, theories and principles of pediatric health and diseases nursing according to the health needs of the society.
Course Content: Information and practices aimed at meeting the child's care needs through a holistic approach to protecting and improving the health of children, families and communities, general concepts related to child health and diseases, basic health services, newborn, growth development and disorders, nutrition and disorders, disorders related to organs and systems / diseases and nursing care.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To understand the care philosophy of Pediatric Nursing and to provide appropriate care in the clinical applications of pediatric nursing care philosophy
2) To be able to explain the developmental period characteristics of children and adolescents and their approaches to protecting and developing health specific to each period
3) To be able to give nursing care to children, adolescents and their families specific to their developmental periods
4) To be able to perform physical examination in children and adolescents and to determine normal and abnormal conditions
