Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Giving the general concepts of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Knowledge of physiologic importance at synapse transmission in the central nervous systems and their functionary neuromediators with neuromodulator systems, for understandable effect of drugs at the central nervous systems.
Course Content: Terms and definitions in pharmacology, new medicine, Physicochemical and biological factors in relation to drug pharmacokinetics, factors modifying drug effect, Drug toxicity, mechanisms of drug effect, Concentration-effect relationships; Rational Use of Medicines; Neurotransmitters of autonomic nervous systems, receptors, their synthesis, release and degradation mechanisms, General effects of drugs effectively in autonomic nervous systems;Classification of drugs used in the cardiovascular systems, Knowledge of effect mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, use and side effects of drugs

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Obtaining the general concepts in clinical drug effect and acquiring the principles and criteria in rational drug therapy To have information on acetylcholine synthesis, release and degradation mechanisms. To have information on adrenaline and noradrenaline synthesis, release and degradation mechanisms.
2) To have information on pharmacological effect of parasympathetic systems. To have information on parasympathomimetic drugs. To have information on parasympathomimetic drugs. To have information on parasympatholytic drugs.
3) To have information on sympathomimetic drugs. To have information on sympatholytic drugs. To have information on pharmacologycal effects of their drugs To have information on side effects and contraindicate of drugs.
