Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is giving information about banks that play important role in financial systems, studying working principles and evaluating and analysing financial position and performance of banks.
Course Content: This course aims to explain basic concepts about banks and banking sector. In this context banking operations, economic functions of banks and their effects, Turkish Banking system, central bank and relations with other banks, liquidity and risk management in banks, sources and uses of funds in banks, bank marketing, credit decisions, foreign trade operations and letter o guarentee subjects will be explained.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to learn the finance system and understand the position of banks in this system, to learn types of banks and role of banks in economy
2) To be able to learn the basic functions of banks, and to be able to analyse and interpret the financial position and performance of banks
3) To be able to use theoretical and practical knowledge gained about bank management
